🛒 Scanning a Product
Previously, selling products required manually typing or searching for an item. With the Scanner feature, you can now add products instantly by scanning their barcode.
To scan a product:
Use your connected barcode scanner.
Scan the product’s barcode.
The item will automatically appear in your shopping cart with its price and details.
⚠️ Important:
Each product must have a unique SKU assigned.
The SKU serves as the product’s barcode and is required for the system to recognize the item.
If a product doesn’t have an SKU, it will not be added when scanned.

🧹 Managing Items and Customers on the POS Screen
While using the Scanner view, you also have tools to help correct or update the transaction before checkout:
Clear Selected Customer
If the wrong customer was scanned or selected, you can remove them by clicking the Clear Customer option. This allows you to scan or search for the correct client.
Delete Incorrect Items or Discounts
If a product or discount was added by mistake, simply click the Delete icon next to the item to remove it from the cart.
These options help ensure the accuracy of every sale before proceeding to checkout.
🛒 Proceeding to Checkout
Once all items, discounts, and the customer profile are correctly added, click the Checkout tab to move to the payment screen.
Selecting a Payment Method
By default, the system selects CC/ACH as the payment method.
If you need to use Cash, simply uncheck the CC/ACH option and click on Cash instead.
This flexibility allows your staff to process payments quickly based on the client’s preferred method.
Important Note
Always ensure your products have SKUs assigned before using the scanner.
Keep printed discount barcodes easily accessible at your point of sale.
Use the search bar anytime you prefer to add items manually.
Tips & Tricks for Using the Scanner
Hold the scanner steady — keep your hand still and aim directly at the barcode for a clean read.
Keep a short distance — about 6–12 inches (15–30 cm) from the barcode works best.
Listen for the beep! — the scanner will make a sound or flash a light when the scan is successful.
Make sure the code is visible — avoid wrinkles, glare, or damaged barcodes that are hard to read.
Check the screen — after scanning, confirm the item appears correctly before scanning the next one.
One scan per item — no need to double-scan! If it doesn’t appear, wait a second and try again.
Clean the scanner lens regularly — a quick wipe with a soft cloth helps it stay accurate.
Try adjusting the angle slightly if a barcode doesn’t scan right away — a small tilt often helps.
Keep it simple — if a code won’t scan, you can always type it manually in the search bar.
Wait for confirmation before moving on — make sure the item or discount appears on the screen before scanning the next one to avoid duplicates.
