The POS Discounts feature allows you to create and manage discount codes that can be automatically applied to products or customers during checkout. This enhancement helps streamline the sales process and ensures accurate and consistent discount application across your Retail System.
🔹 How to Navigate to POS Discounts
Here, you can view all existing discount codes and manage both new and old ones for your POS system. You also have the option to export discount codes for recordkeeping or reporting purposes.
🏷️ Creating a Discount Code
To create a new discount code:
Enter the Discount Name
Set the Percentage according to your promotion.
(Optional) Assign the discount to a specific sub-category.
Click Save to finalize your discount setup.
Once saved, a barcode is automatically generated for that discount code.
⚠️ Important Notes:
Discounts will only apply if the product allows discounts in its own settings.
Each discount can be assigned to only one subcategory (optional).
Discount name and percentage must be unique per subcategory.
Once a subcategory discount is created, you cannot edit the subcategory — you must delete it and create it again if changes are needed.
🧩 How Discounts Are Applied
There are two types of discount allocations in the POS system:
Discounts Allocated to a Subcategory
Applies automatically to all products in the cart that fall under the selected subcategory.
Ideal for promotions like “10% off all Supplements” or “Buy one, get one free on Protein Bars.”
Discounts Not Allocated to a Subcategory
Applies a general discount to the entire shopping cart, regardless of product category.
Useful for storewide promotions such as “10% off your total purchase.”
🔍 Applying Discounts During Checkout
Discounts can be applied in two ways:
Option 1: Scan the Discount Code
If you have a barcode scanner connected:
Simply scan the discount’s barcode during checkout.
The system automatically applies the discount to the current transaction.
Option 2: Enter the Discount Code Manually
In the POS checkout screen, type the discount code (10%OFF) into the search bar and hit Enter.
✅ Best Practices
Keep discount names clear and descriptive for easy tracking.
Review product discount settings to ensure all applicable items are marked as eligible.
Avoid overlapping discounts in the same subcategory to maintain consistency.
Regularly audit discounts to make sure outdated or seasonal codes are removed.
