POS Shopping Cart

The Shopping Cart feature allows you to add items to a virtual cart, navigate away from the POS, and return later to complete the transaction without losing progress. This is especially useful when assisting customers across multiple interactions or when interruptions occur during checkout.

Using the shopping cart helps you:

  • Pause and resume transactions without losing selected items

  • Save time by avoiding the need to restart purchases

  • Improve customer experience during longer or multi-step interactions

  • Personalize sales by creating carts for specific contacts

  • Reduce errors by preserving cart contents while navigating the system

Where You Can Access the Shopping Cart

You can manage a shopping cart in two ways:

  • From the Retail menu in the POS

  • Directly from a contact’s profile when creating a cart for a specific customer

How to Complete a Purchase from the POS Cart

Step 1: Add Items to the Cart

  • Go to the POS tab, and Select products to add them to the shopping cart.

  • When ready, click Checkout to proceed.

Step 2: Identify the Customer

  • Choose whether the purchaser is a guest or an existing member.

  • If the customer is a guest, select the guest option.

  • If the customer is a member, search for and select their profile.

Note:
If a guest is selected, a profile will automatically be created for them in your FPT account as a lead.


Step 3: Select a Payment Method

  • Choose the preferred payment method:

    • Cash

    • Credit Card

  • Payment options are available for both guests and members.


Step 4: Complete the Order

  • Review the order details.

  • Click the Complete Order button to finalize the purchase.


How to Add Items Directly to a Contact’s Cart

You can also create a cart directly from a customer’s profile for a more personalized checkout experience.

Steps:

  1. Go to the Contact’s Profile.

  2. Click the Shopping Cart icon located above the contact’s name.

  3. Select and add the desired items to the cart.

  4. Proceed to Checkout.

Completing Checkout from a Contact Profile

  • The customer’s name will be auto-populated since the cart was created from their profile.

  • Select a payment method.

  • Click Complete Order to finish the transaction.


If you navigate away from the contact’s profile before completing checkout, you can return later and the cart items will still be saved and ready for checkout.


The Shopping Cart feature lets you save items, pause transactions, and complete purchases later without losing progress. It helps streamline checkout, improve customer experience, and ensure smooth transactions for both guests and members.
