Our system allows you to send SMS messages across different carriers, but it's important to understand how SMS credits work to manage your messaging costs effectively.
What Are SMS Credits?
Each SMS message you send can be made up of multiple parts, depending on the length of the message and the characters used. These parts are what we refer to as "Credits." A longer message or one that uses special characters may require more credits.
When you send an SMS may it be a 1-1 or a batch, the system will display the number of credits required for that specific message. This allows you to know the exact cost in credits before sending.
Important Note: Special Characters and Emojis
Special characters and emojis are not part of the standard SMS character set and are treated as additional elements. This means that using them in your messages will typically require more credits. For example:
Messages containing special characters like ‘ñ’ or ‘ç’ or emojis like ‘😊’ or ‘👍’ consume more data, resulting in higher credit usage.
The exact number of credits needed will vary based on the specific characters or emojis used in your message.
Examples:
Message with Emoji and Special Characters
Message with Plain Text Only
